Annetta Laufer is a German Jamaican filmmaker. She is currently directing a new version of the period drama, FORSYTE SAGA for Mammoth Screen and PBS (UK distribution is in discussion). Last year Annetta directed a block of GET MILLIE BLACK in Jamaica for HBO/Channel 4, the series was produced by Motive Pictures, created and written by Marlon James. Prior to that Annetta directed the DR WHO New Years Day Special for the BBC, making her the first Black woman to do so. Buccaneer have optioned her original female lead revenge thriller LEMON FISH which she will write and direct. Annetta wrote and directed the award winning short film THE ARRIVAL produced by Joi Productions and she is currently writing two original films for Film4 and the BFI respectively, both she will direct. COLONY ROOMS is an extension of THE ARRIVAL, set within the Caribbean Windrush community in 1960’s Soho London; WILD SWIMMING is inspired by Annetta’s childhood in rural Germany as the only black family in the village, it also leans on magic realism with a nod to Jamaican folklore, produced by Yvonne Ibazebo.
