Arun Blair-Mangat is a Jamaican and Indian writer and performer, born and raised in London, UK. His work combines rich storytelling, tongue-in-cheek comedy, thrilling drama, and a touch of sparkle. A graduate of the London School of Economics (yes, brains and flair), Arun wrote six episodes of SPELLBOUND (Hulu) and has television projects in development with Eleven, Harvey Mason Media, Avalon, and TantrumPM. He was also commissioned by ITV for a half-hour comedy pilot.

His other writing credits include MADLY INVOLVED (BBC Arts) and development rooms for MURDER IN SANDBANKS (Viacom) and a QTIPOC-centered project for Home Team. Additionally, he created and staged the original musical QU4RTER for The Other Palace.

Arun is a star of London’s West End, where he developed and originated the “groundbreaking” (Attitude Magazine) role of May in Max Martin’s smash-hit musical & JULIET. He also dazzled in KINKY BOOTS (Original West End Cast), following in the fabulous footsteps of his mentor, Billy Porter. Other theatre credits include IN THE HEIGHTS (King’s Cross Theatre), LEAVE TO REMAIN (Lyric Hammersmith), and ANGELS IN AMERICA (National Theatre). On screen, Arun’s credits include DRUNK HISTORY: BLACK STORIES (Comedy Central), PRESS (BBC), SPELLBOUND (Hulu), JOJO AND GRAN GRAN (CBBC), and THE ROYALS (E!).

From captivating audiences on stage to crafting fresh, diverse stories for the screen, Arun Blair-Mangat is a multi-hyphenate talent making waves wherever he goes. When he’s not creating, Arun can be found watching Formula 1 races, devouring Drag Race, or geeking out over dinosaurs.
