Charlotte Hamblin is a wonderfully talented screenwriter, director and actor. Her writing is female led, dark and always laced with acerbic wit. Currently in development in the TV space is original comedy DEATH DO US PART for US company Mark Gordon Pictures; original comedy series GET ON WITH IT co-written with Stella Merz with Look Out Point, dark drama KIN with Route24 and Charlotte is currently developing Shirley Ballas’s hit novel MURDER ON THE DANCE FLOOR with Monumental and BBC.



Charlotte’s TV writing credits include an episode of HANNA for NBC Universal/Working Title for Amazon, and she recently participated in writers rooms for a number companies including NBC Universal, South of the River, Working Title, Expectation and BBC Studios. Charlotte lead the writers room for the adaptation of Lisa Jewell’s best selling Novel THE FAMILY UPSTAIRS for Paramount Plus UK.



In the film space, Charlotte is developing an original Christmas rom-com LOVE SCROOGE with Christine Langan’s Bonnie Productions and Federation Stories. Charlotte’s other original comedy drama feature THE FAULTS THEY HAD is also with Federation Stories.



As a director Charlotte’s debut short film EVERYBODY DIES SOMETIMES…won Best British Short at the British Short Film Awards and had its premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and she went onto win the Silver Jury Prize for best director at the Young Directors at Cannes Lions. It was screened at over seventeen festivals and won over ten awards. Charlotte’s second short NOT A MOURNING PERSON is currently on its festival journey. Most recently Charlotte directed the International Booker Prize Short Films produced by Merman, starring Dua Lipa, David Jonsson Tobias Menzies, Antonia Thomas, Anya Chalotra and Eleanor Tomlinson.
