Daniel’s work as director includes Accidental Death of an Anarchist by Dario Fo and Franca Rame, adapted by Tom Basden for Sheffield Theatres, which then transferred to the Lyric Hammersmith and the Theatre Royal Haymarket, West End - where it was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play; ANNA X by Joseph Charlton which opened in the West End and was later broadcast on Sky Arts (Olivier nomination for Best Actress, Emma Corrin); a new edited version of The Vortex by Noel Coward for Chichester Festival Theatre and Jean Cocteau’s The Human Voice (also adapted) for the Gate Theatre (Nominated for Best Director, Off West End Awards).
Daniel has been associate director to Ivo van Hove on productions including Network (Broadway/National Theatre), All About Eve (West End) and West Side Story (Broadway).
He was nominated for the Emerging Talent Award at The 66th Evening Standard Theatre Awards in 2022.
His forthcoming productions include BRACE BRACE by Oli Forsyth at the Royal Court; Edward II by Christopher Marlowe at the RSC and The Estate by Shaan Sahota at the National Theatre.
His first short film, HERMIT, starring Emma Corrin, will have its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October 2024.
