Fflur Dafydd is an award-winning novelist and screenwriter who writes in Welsh and English. To date she has created and written over 50 hours of primetime drama for S4C and the BBC iPlayer, as well as contributing episodes to other shows. She is the writer and co-producer of the feature film Y Llyfrgell/The Library Suicides, based on her own book, which was released in 2016, and won the Best Performance Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival as well as a BAFTA Cymru.

In 2016 she was longlisted for a BIFA for debut screenwriter and in 2017 and 2019 received BAFTA Cymru nominations for best screenwriter. She is also an award-winning novelist, who has published several works of fiction in both Welsh and English. Her most recent works are The Library Suicides (2023) and The House of Water (2025), both published by Hodder & Stoughton.

Fflur’s original art crime thriller, ‘Yr Amgueddfa’ (The Museum, 6 x 60) produced by ITV Studios company Boom, ran for 2 seasons and was sold to Britbox in America and Canada, AXN Mystery in Japan, and EITB in Spain. It was dubbed “the Welsh Lupin” by the Radio Times and was featured as a Sunday Times Critics’ Choice, as well as being nominated for RTS Cymru, BAFTA Cymru and a Celtic Media awards.

Fflur is currently part of the writing team on Trigger Point Season 3, and is developing other original shows and adaptations with HTM Television, CBS, STV, and Hartswood. Her first radio drama series Mothercover, will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2025.
