Florence Hyde

Florence is a writer and director. Her feature script THE BUCKLER was selected as one of three winners of the 2023 BAFTA Rocliffe feature film new writing prize and is in development with Parkville Pictures. Her shorts have screened at BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals, as well as various online platforms. LONELY LAURA AND HER SISTER NIAMH, starring Yasmin Paige, screened at Encounters Film Festival, Underwire Festival, Manchester International Film Festival and online at Omeleto. SEVEN MINUTES PAST THREE was distributed online by Booooooom TV, and also featured on Film Shortage and Sunday Shorts. In 2018, Florence was shortlisted for the Harper’s Bazaar short story award. Her work is rooted in genre and darkly humorous.
