Kayla Hendy

Kayla Hendy is a exciting young screenwriter from Slough and a recipient of the 2021 Netflix and Sky Screenwriter’s Fellowship, a year long Fellowship set up specifically for diverse voices and spearheaded by showrunner Bisha K. Ali and commissioner Anne Mensah.

As part of the Fellowship Kayla has been mentored by Alice Tyler from Sister Pictures and has been given the space to develop her own original projects. Kayla has also recently participated in the writers room for Sky’s much-loved YA supernatural crime drama series RISEN.

In 2019, Kayla graduated from Bournemouth University with first-class honours in Scriptwriting for Film & TV. As well as the Fellowship she has since gone on to work as a Director’s Assistant in London.
