Racha Sobratee

Racha is a prolific London-based screenwriter known for her character-driven and compelling storytelling. She has several projects in development including a major murder mystery book adaptation for TV with Fremantle. Her versatility and skill spans both comedy and drama, with original projects developed for Sky Comedy, BBC Drama, Firebird, Keeley Hawes' Buddy Club, Hat Trick Productions and many more.

She’s currently writing on multiple shows for the BBC including an episode of Mawaan Rizwan’s supernatural thriller, an adaptation of an award-winning podcast for AC Chapter One and an episode for PHOENIX RISE. Her writersroom experience includes a Nick Hornby adaptation development room and the Children’s and Family Emmy nominated THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON.

Her notable achievements include winning Zeppotron’s Make A Scene Bursary, being selected for Rollem Productions’ BBC New Talent Initiative and graduating from Forge’s Ackley Bridge Shadow Scheme.

Alongside her original and episodic work, Racha has written material and assistant produced on comedy panel shows including Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and Have I Got News For You. She is also writing multiple feature scripts including a Formula One Romcom.
