Rebecca is from Yorkshire and now lives in Brighton. She is currently Dancing Ledge’s Writer In Residence, is working with Peter Straughan on thriller. ALEX, for Bad Wolf and is also working on THE RAPTURE with Bryony Kimmings for Mammoth Screen and BBC. Both projects are set to shoot in 2025.
She has solo projects in development working with Bonafide and Origin Pictures. Rebecca was previously an actor with major roles in Shane Meadows’ This Is England and Clio Barnard’s The Selfish Giant.
Rebecca has written extensively for young adults including National Youth Theatre, York Theatre Royal, West Yorkshire Playhouse and the Bush. In 2019, she was on the BBC Drama Writers Programme working with Kudos North to develop a drama about her work with young women in prison. Simultaneously, she ran the Young Women’s Programme at Clean Break.
