Savannah Ayoade-Greaves
Savannah Ayoade-Greaves is a writer, director, and actor of Guyanese-Nigerian heritage, born and raised in South London. She is currently writing her debut horror feature GEN-Z, a comedic zombie horror set against the backdrop of contemporary South London and produced by Sharp House.
Savannah wrote and directed her first short film THE NEW GIRL, a high school set, female-led vampire story featuring an all-Black cast and predominantly Black crew, which premiered at ScreamFest Los Angeles, dubbed the Sundance of horror. The New Girl stars Yasmin Monet Prince, Precious Mustapha, Savannah Steyn, Michael Ajao, and Ellis George. With a passion for horror and a penchant for the supernatural, Savannah wrote the film in order to break down barriers and reshape narratives within the genre space.
On the television side, Savannah has written an original college slasher pilot entitled IT’S A STICKY ONE STILL, inspired by the SCREAM franchise and told through a contemporary Black female lens. Her play GRANDMA’S FOOTSTEPS was longlisted for the Alfred Fagon Award 2022, and centres around an 80-year-old Caribbean woman who worked in the NHS for 40 years. This caught the eye of The Bush’s Daniel Bailey and Savannah is in talks to present a writer-in-residence play.
