Sufiyaan Salam

Sufiyaan Salam is a writer based in Manchester who works in a variety of mediums, including writing for the screen, prose and theatre. He won the ‘Robert Bolt’ prize for best screenplay in 2018 and his play White Girl was staged at the Bunker Theatre in 2020. His short story "Wimmy Road Boyz" won 2nd prize at the Bristol Short Story Prize, and his novel of the same name won the #Merky New Writer Prize in 2024. He was a part of the BBC Writersroom Northern Voices group in 2022 and is currently working on projects for Sister Pictures and BBC Studios.
